A University Without Walls

The Center for Global Peace and Democracy is an independent, non-partisan 501(c)(3) educational foundation whose purpose is to undertake research and educational projects on the political, economic and social crises confronting the United States in the context of a global society. The Center is based in the United States, but has a network of readers and contributors from around the globe.

The Center for Global Peace and Democracy sponsors two educational projects:

• The eZine New Beginnings offers educational materials, intellectually engaged discussion, book reviews, commentary, original research and publications.

• The Alameda Public Affairs Forum offers monthly live-event educational presentations on topics of local, national and international interest.

The Center was inaugurated in November of 2007 by by Czech diplomat Jan Kavan.
